School Risk Assessment for opening during Covid 19

School preparations for a possible re-opening for more pupils

Dear Parents/Carers we hope that you are all keeping safe and well during these challenging times. As you will know the government wants schools to consider re-opening for Foundation, Y1 and Y6 pupils as well as Key Worker & vulnerable children from after half term. Whilst we are aware that children remaining at home is not easy, we also as a wider staff and governors do not feel that a return is safe at this point. We have a detailed risk assessment plan which we will keep constantly under review and a return will be very much dependent on a major reduction of infections, availability of testing and clear National detailed guidance on safe implementation of safe educational provision in schools. We would deeply regret any actions which would place any child or staff member at risk with unproven relaxation of lockdown measures at this time.

We hope that you are able to understand and empathise with this position and we very much look forward to the time when we can all get back together and re-build the special place which Cobden is.
